Cambodia Gambling Halls
There is a fascinating history to the Cambodia gambling dens that reside just across the border from neighboring Thailand, in which gambling den gaming is illegal. Eight gambling dens are situated in a relatively small area in the metropolis of Poipet in Cambodia. This conclave of Cambodia gambling dens is in a prime destination, a 3 to 4 hour travel from Bangkok and Macao, the 2 most popular gambling locations in Asia. Cambodia gambling dens do a thriving business with Thai blue-collar workers and tourists from Malaysia, Japan, South Korea, and Singapore, with just a couple of Westerners. The phenomenal capital gained from the casinos ranges from 7.5 million dollars to over 12.5 million, and there are a couple of limitations requirements for gambling hall ownership. Ownership is presumed to be mostly Thai; however, financing sources are cryptic. The borders are formally open from 09:00 to 17:00, and despite the fact visas are allegedly required to pass, there are methods around this, as is accurate of many border crossings.
The initial Cambodia gambling dens opened in Phnom Penh in the mid nineties, but were forced to close in the late nineties, leaving just a single casino in the capital, the Naga Resort. The Naga, an anchored barge gambling hall, features one hundred and fifty slot machine games and sixty gaming tables. The Naga river boat never closes with 42 tables of mini-punto banco, 4 tables of blackjack, 10 of roulette, two of Caribbean Stud Poker, and one each of Pai-Gow and Tai-Sai.
The original gambling hall in Poipet, the Holiday Palace, opened in 1999 and the Golden Crown quickly followed. A total of one hundred and fifty slot machines and 5 table games at the Golden Crown and 104 slot machines and sixty eight gaming tables at the Holiday Palace. The newer Holiday Palace Casino and Resort highlights 300 slot machines and 70 table games and the Princess Hotel and Casino, also in Poipet, has one hundred and sixty six slots and 96 table games, including eighty seven punto banco (the most dominant game), Fan Tan, and Pai Gow. Also, there is the Casino Tropicana, with one hundred and thirty five slots and 66 of the common tables, as well as 1 table of Casino Stud Poker. One more of the 8 gambling dens in Poipet, also a part of a hotel, is the Princess Casino with one hundred and sixty six slot machines and ninety seven table games. The Star Vegas Casino is is located in an all-around resort and hotel compound that highlights a number of amenities accompanying the gambling den, which provides 10,000 sq.ft. of one hundred and thirty slot machines and 88 gaming tables.
